"Rivalry" by roguehobbit Short, sweet and to the point. Even if Katang isn't your ship of choice, but this one-shot is simply irresistable. Why? Because of the warm and fuzzy feeling, which comes from the Katang, the sibling banter, and the fact that this stayed true to the characters.

"Downfall" by
Hotspur This epic by Hotspur can only be described as abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. Noticing a broken promise in the series, the story builds on a way for Zuko to get his honor back, and is twenty-six chapters of well-crafted prose and thought-out characterization. If you only have enough time to read one story here, read Downfall. ... Well, what are you waiting for? Go read it already!

"The Hunter and the Prey" by RedNovember As hard as we could try, there'd be no denying that The Hunter and the Prey does not suck. The "Zuko captures Katara to bait Aang" might be overused, but damn, RedNovember has gone above and beyond all the other ones. Even some people who can't stand Zutara can't help but like this story. It's just that good. (And don't forget to check out it's sequel-but-not-really-a-sequel, Love Thy Enemy)

"Sokka’s Guide to Fixing Your Life and the World in General" by totallystellar Humor at the Pit usually consists of sugar-high preteens mashing on their keyboards, expecting the inside jokes and OOCness to be funny. "Sokka's Guide to Fixing Your Life and the World in General" is the polar opposite. If the title alone is enough to make you chuckle, then you'll be laughing up a storm by the voice and content. (And once you're done with Sokka's Guide, go read Name and The Cabbage Man. You won't be disappointed.)

"Can We Keep Him?" by Kit Spooner You'll laugh, you'll awe, you'll want to read it again. We can't blame you. With sibling fluff, confused princes, hungry penguins and

"Lady Behind the Fan" by Impextoo Not a big fan of ZukoxOC? Think any ZukoxOC will be horridly cliche and OOC? Think again. In an amazing display of character development and elegant writing, Impextoo shows us that there is a difference between Mary Sue and Original Character. If you love OCs this is a great story, and if you have them then this is an eyeopener.
![]() | "48th" by Otabe Yatsuhashi Parodies, or rather, well done parodies are usually uncommon, yet we have the luck to constantly stumble over them. What with wanting to swallow pillows, fights that end with giant waves and counting captures like birthdays, even if you don't like Zutara you'll still get a laugh out of this brilliant one shot. ![]() "Culture Clash" by Rashaka | Ever wonder what would come of Zuko keep Katara's necklace for so long? Well, wonder no longer. In a series of witty and parody drabbles, Rashaka tells us the tale of the consequences for Zuko's hording. ![]() "Magnetism" by me-obviously | From Original Ideas: Romance stories that pairs Katara with someone other than Aang or Zuko. (Like Haru. Or Jet. Or the firebender performer from The Deserter.) And by god, it's been written. The pairing is nothing short of crack, but the writing is nothing short of wonderful. It has a blend of canon and creativity that is enough to make even the nonshipper squee. Not much else can be said, there are no words to describe how amazing this is. |
